Image from my photo book �the essence of The Green Island�, a photographic essay of the island where I was born, with black and white photographs of some of the locations I think are most representative of the beauty of Sao Miguel in the Azores.
Wanting to reveal just the essence of each scene, I chose to present all the photographs in the book in black and white.
Fishing was at one point in the history of the island one of the main industries and now a days is still very common to find daily fresh fish at the local market.
